Naver Booking for Foreigners: No Korean Phone Number or Account?

Availability is not the same as guaranteed completion. Recent traveler reports describe the passport option not appearing, camera or permission problems, Korean-only screens, and payment loops. How the NOpenBook flow works

- 3. Choose the service, date, time, and party size. Review any Booking Credit requirement.
- 4. Enter an international phone number and confirmation email.

- 6. Track the request until it is confirmed, fails, or is cancelled.

Do I need to sign in?
You can browse without an account. Google sign-in and consent to share your reservation details with the selected store and Naver Booking are required to submit a request.
Will I need a Booking Credit?
An eligible store operator's remaining daily booking allowance covers the request first. Otherwise, you need 1 Booking Credit and must agree to use it. A Booking Credit does not pay for the store's meal or service.
When is my reservation confirmed?
Submitting a booking request does not guarantee a reservation. Dates, times, party sizes, and payment requirements depend on the selected service. Check My Bookings and wait for the status to change to confirmed before treating the reservation as booked.
My Naver verification SMS never arrives. Can I still request a booking?
Yes. You can request a reservation through NOpenBook without receiving a Naver signup SMS. Find a place with a supported Naver Booking service, sign in with Google and use a reachable international phone number. Choose the service and available time, check any Booking Credit requirement, then submit and wait for confirmation. Your Naver account's SMS issue can be handled separately through Naver support.
Can I book a Korean restaurant or salon without a Naver account?
For supported places, you can submit a NOpenBook request with your Google account and a reachable international phone number. You do not need your own Naver account. Open the exact place or paste its Naver Map link, check the service, availability and any Booking Credit requirement, then submit and wait for confirmation. Support depends on the place and booking service.
Naver passport verification is not working. What should I check?
Naver's official help recommends allowing camera access and photographing the original passport on a flat surface in good light without glare. Complete the on-screen face check. Your passport must be unexpired, issued outside Korea, unused for another Naver ID, and match your account's name and birth date. Contact Naver support if verification still fails.
What if the passport option is missing or I still cannot verify my Naver account?
Use Naver's official support for the account or verification issue. If your immediate goal is a supported restaurant, salon or activity booking, you can check NOpenBook's separate request flow using Google sign-in, or ask the place for its official alternative booking channel. NOpenBook does not repair or verify your personal Naver account. Booking availability, deposits and store conditions still apply; a request is not a confirmed reservation.
Do I need a Korean phone number to use NOpenBook?
No. NOpenBook accepts an international phone number for the reservation request. A reachable phone number and confirmation email are still required.
Do I need to verify a Naver account?
No. You use Google sign-in to submit a NOpenBook request, without completing Naver identity verification yourself.
Is a NOpenBook request immediately confirmed?
No. It is a booking request until its status changes to confirmed. Availability, store rules, and payment requirements can still affect the result.
